Signs of Life in Marvão: find out what changed in the session dedicated to heart and mind health

The parish of Santo António das Areias recently hosted an initiative dedicated to the promotion of health and the well-being of the local community. According to the Municipality of Marvão, the action entitled "Signs of Life" took place on September 3, at the Cultural and Recreational Center of that locality in the municipality.

The session was promoted by the CLDS 5G Marvão+Social project and sought to involve residents through a practical and relaxed approach. The local authority indicates that the session was led by Nicole Zhytaryuk, a Clinical Physiology student at the Escola Superior de Saúde Dr. Lopes Dias, better known by the acronym ESALD.

This collaboration was directly part of the work developed through the Municipal Study Grants, establishing a bridge with the Social Action services of the Marvão municipality. This dynamic aimed to equip those present with useful tools for their daily lives, focusing attention on fundamental aspects of how the body functions.

During the meeting, participants had the opportunity to learn how to identify the vital signs emitted by the heart. The initiative also addressed specific breathing techniques designed to help control anxiety levels and enhance daily energy, as well as practical exercises aimed at mental stimulation and the protection of brain health.

Another central axis of the initiative was to raise population awareness regarding the main threats and warning signs associated with what are considered the three great engines of human health: the pulse, the breath, and the mind. The municipality clarifies that sharing this knowledge aims to promote more proactive and attentive lifestyles in the face of potential symptoms.

In terms of framework, the local authority recalls that the CLDS 5G Marvão+Social project has funding assured by community funds. The program is supported by the European Social Fund Plus, Pessoas 2030, and Portugal 2030, and also features co-financing from the European Union, thus ensuring the continuity of proximity actions for those living in the municipality.
