On the occasion of the 2026 Festivities in Honor of Our Lady of Childbirth, organized annually by the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Monforte, and which, this year, took place from August 14 to 16, an Offering Procession and "flower sale" were held, following previous editions, winding through the main streets of the town.
The Municipality of Monforte joined this tradition of solidarity by delivering an offering, thereby signaling the recognition and proximity that the municipal executive has always maintained toward the institution.
The gesture was led at the entrance of the Town Hall by the Mayor, Miguel Rasquinho, accompanied by members of his Cabinet, Sara Rasquinho, Sérgio Martins, and Joaquina Ramalho, and of the Culture Service, Carla Pereira.
In statements, the mayor highlighted the symbolic value of the act and the solidarity commitment that characterizes the municipality. "There are traditions that cross generations because they are born from what we have best: the ability to care, to share, and to be present for one another," underlined Miguel Rasquinho.
