Those traveling to attend the Marvão Airshow will count on a special mobility scheme prepared for the event. According to the Marvão Town Hall, the town faces significant constraints in parking capacity, which motivated the creation of alternatives to facilitate access for residents and visitors without compromising road traffic in the historic area.
To solve this parking difficulty, the local council will make available to the public a free transport service provided by buses. These vehicles will make the direct connection between peripheral parking zones and the entrance of Portas de Ródão, inside Marvão, ensuring that the flow of spectators runs more smoothly.
The departure points for these free buses are located in strategic spots in the surrounding areas. Drivers will be able to leave their vehicles in the designated parks at Fonte da Pipa, Vale de Ródão, and Portagem, locations from which passenger pickup lines will depart toward the venue.
However, the town hall indicates that this alternative transport service will not operate continuously throughout the day. The buses will make the trips only when the parking lots located outside the town reach maximum capacity.
Traffic management and the guidance of motorists on-site will be the responsibility of the Republican National Guard. The council underlines the importance of strictly following the instructions given by the officers on the ground, as well as parking exclusively in the places determined by the authorities.
Considering the expected turnout for the event and the anticipated restrictions on access to the town, arriving early to the locations is recommended. This way, visitors will be able to follow the guidelines of the security forces, secure a spot for their vehicle, and travel on time to watch the aeronautical program.
